Inside a Tutoring Session:

A tailored framework will be designed to meet the student’s needs, skill level, and academic goals, providing personalized strategies that support both immediate progress and long-term growth as a writer. The goal is that each student: 

  1. Develops an appreciation and strong comprehension of world literature.

  2. Crafts compelling scenes, builds realistic characters, and unravels enticing stories.   

  3. Experiments with diction, syntax, rhythm, and literary devices in prose and verse. 

  4. Builds a deep understanding of grammatical structure to make informed choices about style.

  5. Explores new genres of writing and participates in writing competitions to bring light to their voice. 

  6. Approaches writing assessments (standardized tests, school applications) with independence and confidence.

At Behind the Page, our mission is to provide students with long-term learning strategies and skills they need to explore the fundamentals of writing, experiment with language and syntax, and develop the confidence to express and grow their authorial voices across various genres.
