About Me

My name is Emma Berardini, and I have worked in education for over ten years. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from SUNY Binghamton University and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. I have worked in several schools in the Bay Area such as Helios School, The Nueva School, and Synapse School, as well as tutored students from 1st to 9th grade for the past ten years.

During my time as an educator, I have conducted extensive research regarding adjustments to literacy content, standards, and curricular development. I have built and revised writing curriculum for different groups of learners: from children with learning disabilities, to children of various backgrounds, to highly gifted students.

Currently I am a middle school literacy specialist and tutor who works with students that have learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. I prepare comprehensive literacy curricula that allows young writers of various needs to engage in a breadth of disciplines such as reading and writing critically, pursuing passion projects, and interacting with complex literary debates.

I look forward to working with your child to help them grow as a writer and fall in love with the beauty of writing.
